A Rundown of Events Happening in Hampton Roads for 4th of July

There are lots of fun events to celebrate the Fourth of July this year in Hampton Roads! Of course this year it's even more special being America's 250th Birthday! You can find some below and get more HERE!

Chesapeake

Celebrate Freedom

  • Friday, July 3, 2026, at Chesapeake City Park
  • 900 City Park Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320
  • 4 p.m. – Paid Parking Begins ($10 per vehicle, cash only)
  • 5 p.m. – Children’s Entertainment and Concessions and Special Daytime Fireworks
  • 6 p.m. – Shining Stars Dance Academy
  • 7 p.m. – The Doorway Singers USO Tribute
  • 8 p.m. – U.S. Navy Fleet Forces Wind Ensemble
  • 9:30 p.m. – Fireworks
  • The event is free to the public. There is a $10 on-site parking fee, cash only 

Hampton

Stars Over Hampton: July 4th Celebration

  • Saturday, July 4, 2026
  • Downtown Hampton Waterfront
  • 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Bring the entire family for a spectacular 4th of July celebration on the Downtown Hampton Waterfront featuring fireworks and a 400-drone show. Settler’s Landing Road will be closed to vehicular traffic, and there will be bleachers and vendors. There will be 3 performance stages, including the main stage at Carousel Park.

43rd Annual 4th of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks

  • Town Point Park, Downtown Norfolk Waterfront
  • 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • The 43rd Annual Fourth of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks on Saturday, July 4, at Town Point Park begins at 5 pm with live patriotic music, food, and family-friendly activities, followed by one of Hampton Roads’ most spectacular fireworks displays at 9:30 p.m. high above the Elizabeth River. A wide variety of All-American fare, including hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue, seafood, cotton candy, and more.
